Rollover - The Preferred Call Forwarding Method
Rollover - The Preferred Call Forwarding Method
What is “rollover” and why is it the most preferred method of call-forwarding?
Rollover is a method of call-forwarding that allows all callers to first reach you at wherever your phone system is located. If and when the call goes unanswered, that call is automatically forwarded to another number that you have designated.
Here’s how we like to think about it: A phone call is a train. It can only go in one direction, and when a new client calls your number, that train travels toward your “station.” When that train reaches your station and you aren’t there, it departs from that station and normally travels to the voicemail “station.” If you have ever noticed that when you call your voicemail from your cell phone, you are calling a normal 10 digit telephone number. That is also why when you call someone and you reach their voicemail, the automated attendant tells you, “your call has been forwarded to an automated voice messaging system.” Unfortunately, as an attorney in this day and age, that new client will not leave a voicemail and wait for you to call them back. What “rollover” call forwarding can provide for you is the initial opportunity to answer the phone, and after that, sent to a dedicated call forwarding number that can be answered at Answering Legal! This method works best for our attorneys because not only do you have the 24/7 call answering support for when you’re out of the office, on vacation, on the weekend, or of course, when you’re asleep, but we can assist you during the day as overflow! If your phones are ringing incessantly, but you need the time to offer a phone consultation, speak to an existing client about an urgent matter, appear in court, or step out of the office for any reason, that call is 100% ensured to be answered professionally and with specific respect to your office. Our receptionists can perform the new client intake by asking a series of brief, yet essential questions, making the new client caller more comfortable, and assuring them you will get back to them promptly, if you can’t be reached with a patched call at that time. In this way, it becomes highly conceivable that you will retain the new business, even though you did not even answer the call yourself!
Every practice is different, and we pride ourselves on adapting to your specific needs.
