Many lawyers mistakenly think that they should only use Twitter as a promotional tool. While it’s true that Twitter is a great social avenue for establishing expertise and getting in touch with new clients, the platform can also be a great resource of learning for attorneys. Every second on Twitter there is something of value for lawyers being shared, you just need to know where to look.

Below we’ve assembled 50 Twitter accounts every legal professional should be following. While far from a complete list of accounts worthy of follows, this collection should serve as a great starting point for anyone new to the Twitterverse, or looking to get more out of the network.

1) ABA Journal - @ABAJournal

This account provides breaking legal news, analysis, and stories straight from the flagship magazine of the American Bar Association. A clear must-follow.

2) ABA Law Practice - @LawPracticeTips

The ABA’s Law Practice Division has a Twitter account that offers daily practice management advice, and information on upcoming CLE programs.

3) ABA Publishing - @ShopABA

Follow for updates on the newest ABA book and periodical releases.
